Warhammer: High Elves

“We are the chosen of Asuryan, beloved of the gods
and heirs to the world. Our armies are the finest in
creation; swift where our foes are lumbering,
cultured where they are barbaric. Give no thought
To failure, nor defeat – we are the Children of
Ulthuan and we shall prevail.”
- Aenarion the Defender

The High Elves are exceptionally skilled warriors, graced with phenomenal precision and dexterity upon the battlefield. Their armies are glittering hosts of steadfast spearmen, deadly archers and proud cavalry. But with all their power, they could not prevent their island home of Ulthuan being devastated by natural disaster, or the bitter betrayal that left their civilisation grievously weakened. The Children of Ulthuan are now a race in their twilight, battling against extinction.

Army Information / Updates:

I've been collecting High Elves since Warhammer 4th Edition and from day one they were the army for me. I really like their warrior-poet background and the once mighty, still dangerous nature of their dwindling existence. The specialist troops are great too and it's always tough trying to decide whether to take Swordmasters or White Lions... or both!

The High Elf force has really come into its own in the latest army book and I'm enjoying using them now more than ever. The way GW have worked a lot more of the background character into the army is great and they now play as a far more elite force, which is exactly how I imagine them.

After feeling inspired by the massed cavalry charge at the end of The Lord of The Rings - The Return of The King, I'm currently working on a massive Silver Helm contingent for my army. Taking my usual approach, I've attacked the idea head on and bought 50 Silver Helms! I'm not ready to start on them yet due to various 40k distractions, but when I am at least they'll all be there waiting for me.
