The separation of the Chaos
Codex books into Chaos Space Marines and Daemons
wasn't a huge problem for me. I never really
had a huge Daemonic contingent in my old army
and the stuff I had was on Warhammer bases anyway,
so it was a good excuse to resign it all and
let my Marines go it alone.
The release of the new plastic
Bloodletters didn't go unnoticed and somewhere
in the dark corners of my mind the Blood God,
rather uncharacteristically sat and waited.
He didn’t have to wait long, and on a
shopping trip to Worcester I summoned my first
box set.
I think Daemons are a great
storyline progression in 40k campaigns with
a Chaos element. My current army saw it’s
first action in a campaign, which saw a rebel
Imperial Guard army trying to defend their traitorous
planet from a cleansing force of Blood Angels.
The game started off with a few small skirmishes
to establish the initial planetary invasion
and built up to a full blown Apocalypse battle,
with a climatic Daemon summoning!
I’d like to build this
army up to a point where I can field it in its
own right. With this in mind my shopping list
has got quite a few more Bloodletters on and
perhaps some Nurgle related goodies to add some
pestilent resilience to Khorne’s killing
machines! |
